The Real (unofficial) Scoop On Rise Of The Bats

"After the failure of Dr. Mindbenders Venom troopers, Cobra Commander turns to his android lieutenant Overkill to lead the fight against GI Joe. With new technology and an army of Battle Andriod Troopers at his disposal, can GI Joe stop OVERKILL and the RISE OF THE BATS?"
I have heard from a little bird that Overkill plays a good size part in the Venom Vs Valor movie, trying to discredit Mindbender, so CC will give him a shot at GI JOE. This is all unofficial, but It sounds a lot more believable than "cyborg Duke"
I heard that the figures next year will have snap on equipment, much like Spy Troops had. If this info is correct, I think it could be a great injection to the Joe world, and maybe a little more believable that the whole gene splicing storyline. It is MUCH easier to just take the extra stuff and put it in a drawer, and still have a great base figure, than to deal with the "T" crotch figures. But that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Frankly though, BATs were never a huge thing for me... It was that first step into the far off sci fi realm. It's just a damn good thing that all the BATs look helluva cool

Thanks very much for the information, but how could the gene-splicing story be unbelievable? the technology is already out there, just a few months ago, fish that are spliced with Jellyfish went on the market, while the few walking robots, I have heard about have either used an insectile body or can only walk in a straight line on a completely flat terrain. Granted I don't spend a lot of time reading about robotics. Not that I have a problem with B.A.Ts or anything as I state in my signature.

I'd get a few sets of these. Always wanted to do a more accurate Terminator adventure.

people are saying it cant be worse...cause wave 1 really did suck the major...with wave 2 in its shadows...
most people havent gotten Wave3...so thats why there is so little hope for them to like VVV...for thoose of us with wave3...who think this wave (3) saved VvsV from being the worst cotastrophy since Star brigade..
at least thats how I see it...wave 3 is a huge leap from Wave 2....which doesnt make sense....but either way....THEY ARE WRONG
it can get so much worse...I bet they were saying it cant get much worse when Eco-Warriors came out!

I happen to enjoy VvV. I bought at least two of every two-pack, one to keep MIB, and another to open (which is kinda rare except when army building in my case).
While I may not be the most critical of the Joe-line, compared to you folk, it does work wonders to give every figure a chance. Hell, the VvV Beachhead would make a great Firefly if someone really wanted to paint it. The entire thing is perfect, just needs a paint scheme...
And while AS gets cleaned up after another night with a Hasbro exec, I thank him for taking one for the team to give us this information. I just hope I have a job by the time any of these figures are even shown to the public.

i'm not so sure about the source, no offense, but it sounds to me as if this is all just conjecture at this point. seems this story line could go anyway bats, cyborg duke, who knows?
and being the big fan of action attack that i am i hope they find more ways to incorporate it in the future waves.

We still have the legs, all that needs casting is the torso, head and forearms/weapons. The upper arms would be pretty easy to replace, any rolled up sleeve mold would do. And they could re-deco it a few times in different releases to recover costs. Im sure most of us RAH enthusiasts will jump at every chance to get them,
Recasting the Viper legs would be great too, but thats another topic. Hasbro ought to re-cast one classic figure each year. And the parts for the BAT and Viper would count as one figure technically.

The second I read that I thought - After the failure of the VvV storyline.....
Personally the storyline means nothing to me. VvV could still have been great had we not gotten all that whacky yellow on just about every figure.

For me the storyline is as disposable as the snap on armor. While
it sounds interesting what I care about are the figures; detailed
sculpts, good proportions, original accessories (you've heard all
this before). If Hasbro can give me good figures, they can make
up whatever storyline they want.
