No, I am sorry. it's not him. please deduct 65 bucks from your score.

another hint, a big one...

he won the Slam Dunk Contest in the 80's. There were only a few people to do that, and he only won it one time. That should narrow the list down a bit. There is only a "small" number of people it could be now.
Nope
Jesus?
teelu20
I am going to say Spudd Webb?
Nope
im pretty sure it was Jesus.. or was it that baroo myline Jafar guy? what was his name? arab manjule jafar? clam will know which one im thinking of anyways..

YES! that is correct! I am not sure if we are allowing people to guess more than one time, but who cares. You are right. I guess you can add back on the 65 bucks that you lost. And it's your turn to aske a question. By the way, it will be #39.

Nope
Donald Duck?

no sorry, Donald Duck is so wrong.

here is a hint. Look up books by Daniel Defoe, then find out which one Walt Disney turned into a movie. then figure it out from there.
Nope
so im at 435 now.. wahoo im winning the loosing streak!!

hmm.. im too lazy to go look it up.. so I'll just keep guessing smile.gif

Was it 101 dalmations?

*edit-I knew the answer, but I forgot to finish typing it before posting this and Sith answered correctly after I gave his pen name... DOH!* end edit

Heres more help for everybody his Pseudonym was Retlaw Yensid and sometimes credited as Retlaw Elias Yensid (Which was Walter Disney backwords Elias is his real middle name). I didn't even have to look that one up.
Sith
Robinson Crusoe ?
Anonymous
Very good Sith I thought I would give everybody some help... Clam has to verify but I know for a fact that you are correct with that answer.
Anonymous
I could've looked for that all night and I never would've found it sad.gif
of course, when you type in "Retlaw Yensid", the whole thing comes up

added bit'o trivia:
"Yensid" is also the 'name' of the Sorceror in the "Sorceror's Apprentice" segment of Fantasia

This is not the correct answer. This is the name of the book that Walt Disney adapted for the movie, but it is not the answer to the question.

This is the answer I was looking for , Retlaw Elias Yensid. But who gave the answer? Sith gave the name of the book he adapted into the movie, but he did not answer the question. Mightrain has just given the pen name, which was the answer, but he has edited his post so I don't know what happened before.

Somebody please explain so I know who to deduct and award points to.

According to Jeopardy Rule - 6:
JR-6. For the sake of the game: Let's not argue with the person who asked the question when he/she deducted your point. If he/she felt that your answer weren't the answer that he/she wanted....then just deducted your point and move on.[If you are unsure of the question don't answer it].

Well Clam since the answered you wanted really came from Mightrain, then he deserved the credit.

As for Sith....he give the right answer in a way...but not good enough.
Anonymous
The part I edited Clam is the part that says *edit- blah blah blah end *edit

I went back and read your question wrong after answering and thought it asked for the movie. So I guess I have to ask a question...
Anonymous
I don't even know what my score is so I will just go with the middle of all of my options on that and say ($300.00)

Music- for 98.98

What semi- well known band performed 2 songs for the Warner Brothers Cartoon series "Stephen Speilberg presents: Tiny Toons Adventures", for a music video episode And what were the titles of those 2 songs?

  How Ironic........the last Daily Double (Q.#30) involved a controversial question/answer between Clam and Mightyrain.......and now......this current Daily Double...involved these two parties again.

Anyhow, my last updated on the score was on page 22 (previous page) and I wrote:
Mightyrain: $(could either be 0, or 200, or 400 please settled with Clam)+(-$65 on question #38 )

==========================================
There was one controversal question (dailydouble) inwhich your score had never settled with Clam. Before that question, you had $200.

Here is that flashback:
Q. #30 What rear occurance has only happened 6 times in the history of sport? $200 asked by Clam.

Mightrain Answered: Joe Namath, Reggie Jackson, Secretariat, the 1980 U.S. Ice Hockey team, Mary Lou Retton, and O. J. Simpson
============================================

  As for Sith.....don't worry tiger.....you'll be good on the next question. Clam question was $50.....and since it was a Daily Double.....you'll have to deduct $100.
Reminator
  By the way.....Clam and Mightrain, if you guy pretended that question #30 had never been asked....then Mightrain would retain his previous score $200

Therefore, Mightrain final score should be:
$200 (Old score before Q.#30)
- $65 (you got wrong on Q #38 )
+ $100 (You got right for Q.#40)
____________________________
$235 (total score)

yeah, that's fine. I didn't care if he took away the point because it was a bit confusing, I just didn't want him to add the points

And as for Q#40... It wasn't controversial, i just didn't know if Mightyrain had answered the question incorrectly and then went back and edited it before I had a chance to see it.

Sith was on the right track, but he never gave me the "pen name" that Disney used when he wrote the script for "Robin Crusoe". AND that was the question, what name did he use?

I went back and read your question wrong after answering and thought it asked for the movie. So I guess I have to ask a question...

So what happened was you gave the answer but didn't realize it? You also thought that you were supposed to give the name of the book?

Or did you also give the name of the book first, and then go back and change it? if you answered the question wrong and then changed it to the right answer, let me know. I am confused as to what happened

But have you ever heard that Samual Clemons and Mark Twain are the same person? they are... He used a "pen name" too.

No, Robinson Crusoe was not part of the answer at all. I only wanted to know what Pen Name Walt Disney used when he wrote his movie adaption for a Daniel Defoe novel. That novel just happened to be Robinson Crusoe, but the answer was Retlaw Elias Yensid. Sorry you got confused.

dont worry m8 u didnt confuse me i fully understood. its when mightyrain posted his post and it seemed he left a bit of the answer missing so i just filled it in.because of that i have had to deduct $100. sad.gif

sometimes, a female writer will use initials to disguise their gender, to try to avoid any predjudice
ie: J.K. Rowling, S.E Hinton
(I'm not sure if thats technicaly a 'pen name' though)

And I've heard about well known authors using 'pen name's to see how people react to a particular book

[boy, I hope I got that right...]

WAIT! Actually, you don't have to deduct any points from your score. MightyRain's answer appears before yours, so if he is right, than you could not have gotten it wrong. Right?

No you don't the answer was already given before your answer so you don't have to deduct anything.
